From a philosophically informed perspective, it is evident that the technological transformations currently underway in the contemporary world, increasingly rapid and far-reaching, make an analysis of the changes they produce in the human condition an urgent necessity.

At the Origins of the Erato Group At the origins of the Ethical Research Center for Anthropology and Technology – Turin lies the intention to undertake this analysis from a broad philosophical perspective, highlighting both the ethical dimension and the technological and anthropological dimensions of the issue.

The thematic area within which the group will develop its activities will therefore concern the challenges of the contemporary world: the transformation of the human condition in the context of new technologies (the digital turn, biotechnologies); the changing imaginaries, affects, behaviours, and social interactions within new technological environments; and the relationship between the human and the non-human, with particular reference to the ecological question and the future of the planet.

The analysis will be conducted through a range of methodologies that reflect the transdisciplinary approach the group intends to adopt.
