Brief info

Paolo Monti is Assistant Professor of Moral Philosophy at the “Riccardo Massa” Department of Human Sciences for Education, University of Milan-Bicocca, Milan, Italy. His scholarly activity explores the field of public ethics, with a particular interest in the moral obligations and conflicts that arise in conditions of deep pluralism. His research focuses on three main areas: the ethics of citizenship in the postsecular public sphere; the moral challenges posed by the impact of ICTs on the democratic process; and the ethics of professions, especially in the fields of education, health, and social work. Over the years, he has developed his work at Université du Luxembourg, Università degli Studi di Torino (Italy), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), University of Notre Dame (USA), the NIH’s Department of Bioethics (USA). He is the author of numerous essays, in both philosophical and interdisciplinary publications. His most recent book is: Contemporary Political Philosophy and Religion. Between Public Reason and Pluralism, London and New York: Routledge, 2018 – with C. Ungureanu.
